WHO ARE THE SPIRITSEARCHERS?
John & Nancy Wilton are a husband and wife paranormal investigative team. They had always had an interest in this field, but it was not until 1995 that they found their calling...or did it find them?
John remembers, "We saw the TV show "Sightings" one night. We always watch shows like that. They had a segment about ITC (Instrumental Transcommunication). What it is, is you use your TV set and a video camera to produce "Video feedback", the looping of a picture to infinity. It sounds complicated, but it's not really. They showed Claus Schreiber from Germany who was getting images of his deceased daughter. Anyway, we decided to give it a try."
"The very first time we tried ITC we got a face! It was scary to say the least. As a matter of fact, it scared us so bad, we put the camera away and tried to forget about it. That's when weird things started to happen in our apartment."
Nancy says, "I heard John calling me and he wasn't even home, that happened alot. We both saw things move by themselves. After a while, we couldn't just shrug off all the strange things that were happening to us. John looked up "Ghosts" on the internet and here we are!"
"We read everything we could find on ghosts and ghost hunting for the next year or so. It just snowballed from there. We did our first cemetery hunt in 1996. In 1999, we joined our first ghost hunting group, the New Jersey Ghost Hunters Society"
"John decided to start a website with all the pictures, sounds and information we had learned during our investigations. He thought up the name "Spiritsearchers" and the site was created in January of 2000."
Since then, they have met and worked with some amazing people and made alot of new friends. "It's a great hobby", John says. "Our fear has turned into excitement and fascination. It's an exciting field to be in".
They are in touch with ghosthunters from across the United States and around the world. They believe that everyone in this field should work together and share information with the hope that someday, someone can discover the answer to one of the oldest questions of mankind...
With a life long interest in ghosts, John and Nancy Wilton have been actively involved in Paranormal Research and Investigations since 1996. They are Members of The New Jersey Ghost Hunters Society and The American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena.. They have worked in the the past with South Jersey Ghost Research, Tri-State Paranormal Research and were past New Jersey State Representatives for the American Ghost Society.
